On Sunday, 8 November 2026, join Margherita Zerbi, a ceramic artist specialising in plaster mould making.
You’ll learn how to create a mould to reproduce your own ceramic designs in series. During the workshop, you’ll make a plaster mould for a ceramic knob, which you’ll be able to take home and use again for your future projects.

Mould making allows you to take a form you’ve created and bring it to life again and again, preserving its details while opening up new possibilities for variation and experimentation.
Tiles, spoons, small decorative objects: starting from a single original, you can create a whole series of pieces that feel connected, yet entirely your own.
On Sunday, 8 November 2026, ceramic artist Margherita Zerbi will guide us through the process of designing and creating a multi-part plaster mould.
We’ll begin by exploring slip casting with ready-made plaster moulds, observing how a form is reproduced. Then, each participant will design and create an original model for a ceramic knob, to keep and use as the starting point for their own mould.
A hands-on introduction to the art of mould making, from designing the original form to understanding how it can be reproduced — giving you the skills to turn your own ideas into collections and develop future projects independently.

- Materials included? Yes, everything you need to create your own model for mould making will be provided.
- Lunch included? Yes, a complimentary lunch will be provided for all participants.
- What should you bring? Comfortable clothes… and your curiosity! We’ll take care of everything else.
- Are places limited? Yes, the workshop is limited to 12 participants and will be confirmed once a minimum of 8 people have registered. Book your place early!
- How much does it cost? €120 per person. Studio MUD students attending a weekly or intensive pottery wheel course receive 10% off one workshop of their choice (€108). Newsletter subscribers receive 5% off their first workshop (€114).
- What happens if the workshop is cancelled? If the minimum number of participants is not reached, or if the workshop cannot take place for any other reason, you can choose between a full refund or a voucher of the same value to use towards another Studio MUD workshop
